On Monday night, I received the endorsement of Madison Teachers, Inc.  I’m very honored to have the support of Madison’s teachers.  The primary reason that we have one of the best public school systems in the entire country is the quality of our teachers.  For four years, I have been saying that strong public schools are the most important ingredient in a healthy city, and I’m very happy that those on the front lines of making our schools great recognize my support of our schools.

In addition to the teachers union, I’m happy to have the support of School Board President Johnny Winston, school board members Carol Carstensen and Arlene Silveira, and former school board members Juan José López and Bill Keys.

With the MTI endorsement, every major union that has made an endorsement in the mayor’s race has endorsed our campaign.
